Síndrome de Burnout em estudantes de odontologia: prevalência e fatores de risco

Various professions in the health field have been intensively investigated in relation to the stressors present in the work environment and can lead to physical exhaustion, mental and emotional health professionals in the exercise. The burnout syndrome can be defined as a type of occupational stress that affects professionals involved in labor activity that requires a relationship of direct care, continuous and highly emotional. In students, the concept is extended to the feeling of exhaustion due to the requirements of the study, accompanied by disbelief and sense of occupational disability and the school does not offer useful learning for their future actions. The purpose of this study was to identify signs of exhaustion and disbelief about the course among students graduating from courses of Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry of Araçatuba, UNESP. For both field research was conducted with a cross-sectional descriptive-analytic, with the participation of academic graduates (25 males and 37 females) of Dental Courses (Integral and Night) of the Faculty of Dentistry of Araçatuba, UNESP. For data collection technique was used for interrogation through a questionnaire containing 15 closed questions, clear, concrete and precise, with alternative adequate enough to house a wide range of possible responses. The results showed that dental students evaluated showed low percentage of exhaustion and detachment. However, when evaluated by gender these percentages were higher in females
