SCHOOL BULLYING IN BRAZIL: A LITERATURE REVIEW OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES

Resumo: | Bullying is a phenomenon which suggests acts of physical or verbal violence that occur repetitively and intentionally against one or more victims. The phenomenon began to be studied in Sweden in the 1970’s. This study aimed to investigate scientific articles on school bullying published in Brazilian scientific journals up to the end of 2011. For this purpose, we performed a search using the term “bullying escolar” on SciELO and Google Scholar databases, finding 37 scientific articles published between 2009 and 2011. The literature review indicated that the phenomenon has become increasingly more prominent in scientific publications, arousing the interest of different knowledge areas, such as Psychopedagogy, Law, Physical Education, and Pedagogy, which developed studies based on different methods, objectives and focuses. However, up to the end of 2011, few articles were published with the aim of discussing the action of the psychologist. |

Se empezó a estudiar el fenómeno en Suecia, en la década de 1970. Este estudio pretendió investigar los artículos científicos sobre “bullying escolar” publicados en revistas científicas brasileñas hasta el final de 2011. Para ello, realizamos una investigación utilizando el término “bullying escolar” en las bases de datos de SciELO y Google Académico. Se encontraron 37 artículos científicos publicados entre 2009 e 2011. La revisión indicó que el fenómeno viene ganando cada vez más relieve en las publicaciones científicas, despertando el interés de diferentes áreas de conocimiento, como la psicopedagogía, el derecho, la educación física y la pedagogía, que desarrollaron investigaciones a partir de diferentes métodos, objetivos y focos. Hasta el final de 2011, sin embargo, se publicaron pocos artículos en el sentido de discutir la actuación del psicólogo.Bullying é um fenômeno que sugere atos de violência física ou verbal, que ocorrem de forma repetitiva e intencional contra um ou mais vítimas. O fenômeno começou a ser estudado na Suécia, na década de 1970. Este estudo buscou investigar os artigos científicos sobre bullying escolar, publicados em revistas científicas nacionais até o final de 2011. Para isso, pesquisamos a expressão “bullying escolar” nos bancos de dados do SciELO e Google Acadêmico. Foram encontrados 37 artigos científicos publicados entre 2009 e 2011. A revisão apontou que o fenômeno vem ganhando cada vez mais destaque nas publicações científicas, despertando o interesse de diferentes áreas de conhecimento, como a psicopedagogia, o direito, a educação física e a pedagogia, que desenvolveram pesquisas a partir de diferentes métodos, objetivos e focos.
