Resumo: | The study of values related to organizations has being mainly done under the approach of psychological social psychology, using questionnaires that measure employees perception about values that exist in the organization. Differently Domenico (2007) proposes the concept of values related to organizational competition (VROC) under the approach of sociological social psychology defined as beliefs, socially constructed, that are significant for an individual or group, which consists in principle-goals, that rule the social actions between stakeholders, aiming to obtain resources in a competitive environments. This study seeks to understand and describe VROC related to practices related to employees and customers of loss-making company part of an American multinational group. This study was made under interpretative program, through qualitative ethnographic research, using individual and group interviews, documents and observations for data collection and interpretive analysis in their treatment. From the analysis, we have identified eight VROC namely: non-attention to employees, nonattention to customers, no-attention to company resources, non-transparency of managers,'personhood' in relations, protecting of own interests, fulfillment of legal obligations, and obedience to higher levels, suggesting that maintenance of an organization at a loss for several years under precarious working conditions, obedient employees at various levels and lack of questioning, represented the lowest cost solution for the corporation, given contextual issues involved. The study of values related to organizational competition may enlighten corporate role discussion, showing a face, sometimes hidden. |
