Resumo: This research aimed to investigate how the development of scientific thinking is carried out in the Biological Sciences Degree course. The intention was to analyze how students, in the last semester of the course, are developing scientifically. To conduct the research, we opted for a qualitative approach and adopted the following methods: applying questionnaires and conducting interviews with students in the last semester of the biology course. The theoretical framework used shows several ways of understanding the concept of teacher education and the importance of the development of scientific thinking. The study was based on the theoretical conceptions of Deval (2005), Mizukami (1996), Nóvoa (2009) and Shulman (2014; 2016). At the end of the research, we found that, in the field of teacher education, we still need to advance in the construction of curricula, especially in Higher Education, which deal with strategies for the development of scientific thinking.

O referencial teórico utilizado pautou-se nas diversas formas de entender o conceito de formação docente e a importância do desenvolvimento do pensamento científico. O estudo fundamentou-se nas concepções teóricas de Deval (2005), Mizukami (1996), Nóvoa (2009) e Shulman (2014; 2016). Ao final da pesquisa, constatamos que, no campo da formação docente, ainda precisamos avançar na construção de currículos, em especial no Ensino Superior, que tratem de estratégias para o
