The design and elaboration processes of architectural projects have been transforming while means of communication change, technologies are updated and the time and space social relationship between men and built environment are revolutionized; these processes are the object of this thesis. The procedures and products resulting from the design process also have transformed throughout history, the sketches and annotations preceding the project remain, but the way ideas and proposition are communicated are becoming as much accessible and precise as more sophisticated and realistic as possible, through the use of the most recent graphic representation computerized technologies, to cater to the unusual plasticity proposed by contemporary architects who steered away from Euclidean Mathematics and began to implement generative formulas based on fractal algorithms and on the complexity theory. The added value to the built project is also analyzed when ideas from iconic architects are used to build urban complexes, based more on space restructuring associated with markup than on the resulting architectural quality. In conclusion, proposes guidelines for the work of contemporary architects in solving the architectural challenges of the 21st Century.
