Resumo: The results of the efficiency of the program CEAPE is assessed; the efficiency is estimated by means of a simplified system of evaluation. Preschooler attendance at the program has been high as the annual averages were above 85% (87,4% in 1978; 89,7% in 1979). The attendance of their mothers at its activities was also considered high, as 75% of the units in the State achieved more than 90% attendance. The school lunch was not standardized as the responsability for it was assumed spontaneously and extraofficially by the authorities of each county. For this reason, they varied from county to county from 250 to 350 calories and provided an average of 13gr of protein daily. A system of social and cognitive activities was selected and these activities were distributed throughout the child's areas of development. Despite being a program of modest sophistication it achieved a worthwhile level efficiency.

Despite being a program of modest sophistication it achieved a worthwhile level efficiency.
