Resumo: The purpose of the paper is to present an integrated model of three levels of prevention in the mental health field, devoted to the organization of multifocal early stimulation programs. Its salient features is of an open perspective in the inter-relationship of those prevention levels, as well as of the team members' duties acting in these programs and also of the pertinent diagnosis and intervention processes. This model is product of the advances reached in the field of early stimulation related to its vast applicability, to new and different types of its programs, to the improvement of the team members and also to the ever-present connection between those processes. The development of this model and its conclusions reveal new findings in the scientific growing attained in this area, showing too an expressive applicability, as a coherent referential scheme for future researches, and also promising projects for the child and his family's well-being.

Propõe um modelo integrativo dos três níveis de prevenção em saúde mental, destinado à estruturação dos programas de estimulação multifocal. O modelo apresenta uma perspectiva aberta na interrelação dos níveis de prevenção, das funções dos integrantes das equipes atuantes no desenvolvimento dos referidos programas e nos processos de diagnóstico e intervenção pertinentes. O modelo apresentado resulta dos progressos alcançados no campo da estimulação precoce vinculados à abrangência de sua aplicação, aos novos tipos de programas, ao crescimento das equipes e à vinculação contínua entre aqueles processos. O desenvolvimento da proposição e as conclusões dela derivadas demonstram novas conquistas para o desenvolvimento científico na área, alicerçadas nos progressos anteriormente obtidos. Evidenciam também expressiva funcionalidade podendo o modelo apresentado constituir um esquema referencial coerente para elaboração de pesquisas pertinentes e uma alternativa promissora para o bem estar da criança e também de sua família.
