A survey of the learning difficulties in chemistry of deaf students reported in works presented at the National Meetings for Research in Science Education and National Meetings for Teaching Chemistry between the years 2005 and 2021

Resumo: Due to public policies for the inclusion of the deaf in regular education, science teachers began to face the challenge of teaching their content to hear and deaf students simultaneously. Because of this, the present article investigated the complete works found in the annals and minutes of the National Meetings of Research in Science Education and of the National Meetings of Teaching Chemistry between the years 2005 and 2021, to identify which are learning difficulties reported when teaching science with the deaf in such works. After the survey, it was found that learning difficulties related to terminology and teacher training were the predominant ones, requiring a convention of signs in Sign Language for the specific terms of science and the realization of an integrated action between the teacher and language interpreter of signs, as well as the preparation of diversified classes and methodology so that the student can learn the science content.

Tendo em vista isso, o presente artigo investigou os trabalhos completos encontrados nos anais e atas dos Encontros Nacionais de Pesquisa em Educação em Ciências e dos Encontros Nacionais de Ensino de Química entre os anos de 2005 e 2021, com o intuito de identificar quais são as dificuldades de aprendizagens relatadas ao ensino de ciências com surdos em tais trabalhos.
