Resumo: | This article presents an investigation that aimed to analyze how a collection of mathematics from the final years of Elementary School, approved by the National Textbook Program (PNLD) 2017, presents the theme of Quantities and Measures. The theoretical support of the research is the didactic model proposed by Douady and Perrin-Glorian (1989) for teaching the area of plane figures as a quantity, adapted for other geometric quantities. With a qualitative approach and a documentary research, the Mathematical Bianchini collection, 8th edition, 2015, adopted by the municipal education network, in Barreiras, western Bahia, was analyzed. The results indicate that the analyzed collection needs to adapt to the requirements proposed by the literature for the presentation of the thematic unit magnitudes and measures and that the approach presented in the collection emphasizes the numerical aspect, not being enough to present a magnitude as an attribute, dissociating the magnitude its measure and the associated geometric object. |

O suporte teórico da pesquisa é o modelo didático proposto por Douady e Perrin-Glorian (1989) para o ensino de área de figuras planas como grandeza, adaptado para outras grandezas geométricas. Com abordagem qualitativa e uma pesquisa documental, analisou-se a coleção Matemática Bianchini, 8ª edição, 2015, adotada pela rede municipal de ensino, em Barreiras, oeste da Bahia.
