Resumo: In contemporary times, the need to be constantly in search of materials and teaching strategies that enable students to understand mathematical content is discussed, especially when the inclusion of students is the target audience of Special Education. In this way, manipulative materials are an option, among others, that are plausible to apply to teach students. Based on this understanding and observation of tutoring classes for deaf students, the following question arose: How can the use of manipulative materials help in learning the division operation, of natural numbers, in teaching deaf students? With the purpose of answering this question, an attempt was made to develop, apply and evaluate a didactic proposal based on the historical-cultural theory. Thus, the present master's research was characterized as a case study of a qualitative nature and used as instruments for data collection and evaluation of the feasibility of the proposal: class diary, semi-structured interviews and images of activities carried out by students. At the end of the research carried out in the master's degree, a contribution is made to teach the concept of the division algorithm of natural numbers using the Euclidean algorithm and also the divisor multiples method to teach this concept to three deaf students participating in the research, investigating the pedagogical potential of the use of manipulable materials for learning the operation of division of natural numbers.

Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR)Nymann dos Santos, MelinaFerraz Pereira, Luiz Henrique2022-12-19info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionDossiê Temáticoapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.utfpr.edu.br/actio/article/view/1530810.3895/actio.v7n3.15308ACTIO: Teaching in Sciences; v. 7, n. 3 (2022); 1-18ACTIO: Docência em Ciências; v. 7, n. 3 (2022); 1-182525-892310.3895/actio.v7n3reponame:Actio (Curitiba)instname:Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR)instacron:UTFPRspahttps://periodicos.utfpr.edu.br/actio/article/view/15308/9267https://periodicos.utfpr.edu.br/actio/article/downloadSuppFile/15308/2868Direitos autorais 2022 ACTIO: Docência em Ciênciashttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2022-12-19T20:48:49Zoai:periodicos.utfpr:article/15308Revistahttps://periodicos.utfpr.edu.br/actio/PUBhttps://periodicos.utfpr.edu.br/actio/oaimarcelolambach@utfpr.edu.br||actio-ct@utfpr.edu.br||periodicos@utfpr.edu.br2525-89232525-8923opendoar:2022-12-19T20:48:49Actio (Curitiba) - Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR)false
