The Technological Incubators of Solidarity Economy as a space for the development of technologies and social innovations

One of the most outstanding challenges recently in the field of Engineering and Social Development is the need to build new technologies that, unlike almost all existing ones, strengthen democratic, horizontal and self-managing principles and values. In contrast to the traditional idea of technology, based on hierarchy, centralization of power and unconditional search for profit, there are fields that seek to follow other paths, which can be identified in the proposals of Social Innovation and Social Technology. In this scenario, the field of Technological Incubators of Solidary Economy has been consolidating as one of the main spaces of construction of counter-hegemonic paths and where innovation has gained new contours. In this article we analyze how the innovation generated by the Technological Incubation of Solidarity Economy is characterized, based on the results of the evaluation of the National Program to Support Cooperative Incubators (Proninc), held in 2016 and 2017. The results indicate a diversity of types of innovations that have resulted in the elaboration of new categories.
