THE MEANINS OF VIOLENCE AT SCHOOL FOR THE TEACHERS OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF BELEM

Resumo: The violence that is present at scholar environment can generate lost to the educational process and to the subject relationships. The comprehension of this phenomenon cross the meanings of these subjects the live in this environment, once it is represented based on space and time it is referred. So, the research objectives firstly the identification and analysis of meanings the teachers of high school at public schools in Belém, have about the violence at scholar environment. Other objectives are: identification of actors and forms and more frequent situation and verification of actions schools have to develop to extinguish the violence. For such a purpose bibliographic studies a field research were carried on 04 (four) public high school in Belém, state of Pará. It was used a questionnaire as research instrument for data collection with the following theme: meaning and forms of violence; more frequent situations; and action that schools have to adopt to extinguish the violence in their environments. The data analysis was based in Bardin (2003) on analysis of content. Results show that the meanings the teachers attribute to violence is constituted by a number of aggressions, since physical lost till other more subjective. This phenomenon is caused so by external conflicts so those inherent to the school environment. The main subjects pointed as violence producers are the pupils, although other members of schools are also referred. Treatment actions were showed. It is important that the schools take attitudes on their day-by-day regarded to the prevention and/or reduction on violence levels

A compreensão deste fenômeno passa pelos significados dos sujeitos que estão presentes nesse ambiente, pois ela é representada com base no espaço e tempo o qual é referida. Assim esta pesquisa tem por objetivo geral, identificar e analisar os significados que professores do ensino médio de escolas públicas de Belém possuem sobre a violência na escola. Outros objetivos são: identificar os atores e as formas e situações mais freqüentes e verificar as ações que as escolas desenvolvem para resolver a violência. Para isso realizamos estudos bibliográficos e pesquisa de campo, em 04 escolas do ensino médio de Belém-Pa. Na coleta de dados utilizamos como instrumento de pesquisa um questionário com as temáticas: significado da violência, formas de violência, situações mais freqüentes e, ações que a escola exerce para resolver a violência no seu interior. A análise dos dados pautou-se em Bardin (2003) sobre a análise de conteúdo. Os resultados revelam que os significados que os professores atribuem à violência se constituem em agressões diversas, que vão desde prejuízos físicos a outros subjetivos. Este fenômeno é causado tanto por conflitos externos como internos à escola. Os principais sujeitos apontados como produtores de violência são os alunos, contudo outros membros da escola também são destacados. As ações de tratamento de violência foram evidenciadas. É importante que as escolas tomem atitudes em seu cotidiano quanto à prevenção e/ou redução da violência.
