Resumo: In this work there is a series of questions about the concept of body. Initially theauthor lists the question proposed by Spinoza and later taken up by Deleuze: "What can body?"And continues to ask, which may, ultimately, the body changed? Also proposes the author tothink about the bodily changes adopted by the contemporary subject. Would, after all, the meansof intervention of the subject body a way to deal with the discomfort caused by the image of yourbody? The text presents the known proposal of Lacan on the structural function of the imageformation of the ego. In philosophical thought, explores the dichotomy between reason andbody and suggests its inadequacy. Also discusses the unspeakable of the body, which it is nottraining, not discipline, does not fit and not mold.

Propõe-seainda a pensar acerca das modificações corporais deliberadas pelo sujeito na contemporaneidade.Seriam, afinal, os modos de intervenção corporal uma maneira do sujeito lidar com o mal-estarprovocado pela imagem de seu corpo? O texto apresenta a conhecida proposta de Lacan sobre afunção estrutural da imagem na constituição do eu. No pensamento filosófico, a autora percorrea dicotomia entre razão e corpo e aponta sua inadequação.
