THE MOTHER TONGUE USAGE IN THE INTERACTION BETWEEN TEACHER/STUDENT DURING THE FOREIGN LANGUAGES CLASSES: A NECESSARY PRACTICE.

Resumo:   Using the Mother Tongue in the Foreign Language classes, particularly in early stages of learning, is becoming necessary and valid in certain situations of interaction. This paper position is that this practice is appropriate, as long as the use of the mother tongue in a foreign language class is related to an affective atmosphere searching for the apprentices. The object presented here comes from a master's research in development that aims to consider the teacher-student interaction in the initial learning situation. Thus, in view of the various paradigms related to methods of teaching foreign languages, this study will seek some answers and try to determine which practices are the most used and what are the most effective ones, according to professionals and researches. Implementing these actions to research, we relied on the data collection made with the teachers and students of language schools in Criciúma and Içara in the state of Santa Catarina, noting the extent to which gives the use of mother tongue in initial stage in the classes of foreign language; It will be also present in this analysis, a speech, comparison, in other words, the method that the teacher says he/she uses, and the method that the teacher really uses in the foreign language classes. Key words: Foreign language classes, mother tongue, interaction, practice.

A posição defendida neste trabalho é a de que essa prática é adequada, uma vez que, a utilização da LM em sala de LE está relacionada à procura de um clima afetivo para os aprendizes. O objeto aqui apresentado é procedente de pesquisa de mestrado, em desenvolvimento, que tem como finalidadeconsiderar a interação professor-aluno em situação inicial de aprendizagem. Assim, diante dos vários paradigmas ligados aos métodos de ensino de língua estrangeira, este estudo buscará algumas respostas e tentará averiguar que práticas são as mais utilizadas e quais as mais eficazes, segundo os profissionais da área e estudiosos. Para implementar estas ações visando à investigação, baseamo-nos nas coletas de dados feitas com os professores e alunos de escolas de idiomas nas cidades de Criciúma e Içara no estado de Santa Catarina, observando em que medida se dá o uso da LM em estágio inicial, nas aulas de LE; far-se-á presente também nesta análise, uma comparação entre a fala, ou seja, o método que ele diz que usa, e o método que o docente realmente utiliza nas aulas de LE.
