For an expansion of Distance Education accompanied by active learning methods: main difficulties and possible ways

Resumo: | In recent years, especially in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting social isolation measures, Distance Education gained even more notoriety and discussion within the academic space. One of the themes most present in these discussions concerns the use of active learning methodologies in their teaching-learning process. However, as research shows, it is noticeable the existence of difficulties in implementing these active methodologies in Distance Education, which put at risk the development of student learning and enable the reproduction of the traditional form of teaching, in which the teacher assumes a role of carrier and transmitter of knowledge. With the current immediate transposition of face-to-face teaching for Distance Education, this scenario may worsen. Given this consideration, the objective of this article is to demonstrate, through a bibliographic and documentary review, what are the main factors that have hindered the implementation of active methodologies in the field of Distance Education in higher education and the possible ways to be followed in order to mitigate and solve such difficulties in implementing this type of methodology in the distance modality. |

Uno de los temas más presentes en estos debates se refiere al uso de metodologías activas en su proceso de enseñanza- aprendizaje. Sin embargo, como muestra la investigación, es notable la existencia de dificultades en la implementación de estas metodologías activas en la EaD, que ponen en riesgo el desarrollo del aprendizaje de los estudiantes y permiten la reproducción de la forma tradicional de enseñanza, en la que el profesor asume un papel de portador y transmisor de conocimiento. Con la actual transposición inmediata de la enseñanza presencial para la EaD este escenario puede empeorar. Ante esta consideración, el objetivo de este artículo es demostrar, a través de una revisión bibliográfica y documental, cuáles son los principales factores que han obstaculizado la implantación de metodologías activas en el ámbito de la EaD en la educación superior y los posibles caminos a seguir para mitigar y resolver tales dificultades en la implementación de este tipo de metodología en la modalidad a distancia.Nos últimos anos, principalmente no ano de 2020, devido à pandemia da COVID-19 e às medidas de isolamento social dela decorrentes, a Educação a Distância (EaD) ganhou ainda mais notoriedade e discussão dentro do espaço acadêmico. Um dos temas mais presentes nessas discussões diz respeito ao uso das metodologias ativas em seu processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Entretanto, conforme pesquisas demonstram, é perceptível a existência de dificuldades na implementação dessas metodologias ativas na EaD, que colocam em risco o desenvolvimento da aprendizagem do aluno e viabilizam a reprodução da forma de ensino tradicional, na qual o professor assume um papel de portador e transmissor do conhecimento.
