Resumo: | The change of the rigid model of the minimum curriculum in undergraduate programs of dentistry to the more flexible proposal of the National Curricular Guidelines for Dentistry Undergraduate Courses can be considered an advance. Still, it is not a substantial guarantee of changes. This is mostly because many innovative curricular proposals happen only in theory, not in reality. Some of them become written promises which do not change the reality of the educational process. A new curriculum in undergraduate programs of dentistry demands changes of practices and concepts, and a true rethinking about the meaning of higher education. |
