Space and interactivity in the remediation of a fictional book: analysis of an example

Resumo: Digital media provided a new look at the book. Designed and designed for the computational medium, digital books use media resources different from the printed medium, providing a new type of interaction for readers. The reformulation of a medium inspired by another can be called remediation. Thus, this article presents the analysis of the app book “The Metamosphosis for iPad”, a digital book that proposes a new reading experience for the classic work of Franz Kafka, in order to identify the levels of space and interactivity involved in the book digital. For that, we used the close reading method, whose principle is in the observation of a digital artifact. As a result, the interface space was identified and was built to refer to the personality and feelings of the character of Kafka's work, presenting this to the reader through interactivity and space navigation.

La reformulación de un medio inspirada en otro puede llamarse remediación.Por ello, este artículo presenta el análisis del libro app “La metamosfosis paraiPad”, un libro digital que propone una nueva experiencia de lectura de la obra clásicade Franz Kafka, con el fin de identificar los niveles de espacio e interactividad involucradosen el libro. digital. Para ello, utilizamos el método de lectura atenta, cuyoprincipio está en la observación de un artefacto digital. Como resultado, el espacio dela interfaz se construyó para hacer referencia a la personalidad y los sentimientos delpersonaje de la obra de Kafka, presentándolo al lector a través de la interactividad yla navegación espacial. Os meios digitais proporcionaram um novo olhar para o livro. Pensado e projetado para o meio computacional, os livros digitais utilizam recursos de mídia diferentes do meio impresso proporcionando um novo tipo de interação aos leitores. A reformulação de uma mídia inspirada em outra pode ser denominada remediação. Sendo assim, o presente artigo apresenta a análise do app book “The Metamosphosis for iPad”, um livro digital que propõe uma nova experiência de leitura para a clássica obra de Franz Kafka, a fim de identificar os níveis de espaço e interatividade envolvidos no livro digital. Para tanto, utilizou-se do método close reading, cujo princípio está na observação de um artefato digital. Como resultado, identifica-se o espaço da interface foi construído para remeter à personalidade e aos sentimentos do personagem da obra de Kafka, apresentando isto ao leitor por meio da interatividade e navegação do espaço.
