Quality of Education and Teacher Training: inter-relationship with the IDEB and the Brazil Exam

Resumo: This research aimed to analyze the teachers training, as an indicator of the quality of education of two municipal schools, in line with the performance of students of the 5th year of primary school from the Maiquinique municipality in the 2011 Brazil Exam. The research was conducted in 2013 in schools that had different averages in the last result of the IDEB. Through the questionnaire, we collected data on the profile of the teachers participating in the research, their training and working conditions in schools, and learned how they evaluate the school and quality of education. We also evaluated the surveyed schools’ grades on the Brazil Exam, in the years of 2005 to 2011. Research has shown that the results of the Brazil Exam are not in line with these teachers’ training and that there is an impossibility in the IDEB formula, when showing the disparities found in the results of this external evaluation.

La investigación se realizo en 2013 en escuelas con distintos promedios en el último resultado del IDEB (Indice de Desarrollo de la Educacion Basica). A traves del cuestionario se recopilan datos sobre el perfil de las maestras participantes de la investigación sobre la formacion y las condiciones laborales de las mismas, con lo cual se puede saber como evalúan a la escuela y la calidad de enseñanza. Tambien se evalúan las notas de la Prueba Brasil de las escuelas analizadas, durante el periodo del 2005 al 2011. La investigación muestra que los resultados de la Prueba Brasil no estan en linea con la formacion de estas maestras y que hay una imposibilidad del IDEB, al mostrar las diferencias encontradas en los resultados de esta evaluacion externa.Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar se a formação dos professores, como indicador da qualidade do ensino de duas escolas municipais, estava em consonância com o desempenho dos alunos na Prova Brasil do 5º ano do ensino fundamental no municipio de Maiquinique, referente ao ano de 2011. A investigação foi realizada em 2013 em escolas que apresentaram medias distintas no último resultado do IDEB. Atraves do questionario, coletamos dados sobre o perfil das professoras participantes da pesquisa, sobre a formação e condicoes de trabalho das mesmas nas escolas, conhecemos como elas avaliam a escola e a qualidade do ensino. Avaliamos tambem as notas da Prova Brasil das escolas pesquisadas, dos anos de 2005 a 2011.
