The role of the coordinators of Institutional Evaluation Commission in the Self-assessment in Higher Education Institutions (IESs)

Resumo: Starting from the premise that systematic institutional self-assessment is a process of looking for improvement of educational quality, from the diagnosis of the implementation of the main activities of the Higher Education Institutions (IES), the paper aims to grasp the degree of central knowledge and acceptance of the Commissions Own Coordinators of Institutional Self-evaluation (CPA) of the IES cearenses about the design of existing self-assessment (according to Law 10.861 - SINAES). To this end, a field research was executed (ex post-facto) with the use of questionnaires sent via online to 44 coordinators of the CPA, as well as interviews with 20 undergraduate students, coming from 13 IESs visited in situ. The study results point to the need to consolidate the institutional self-evaluation between IES of the Ceara state, as well as greater personal and institutional investment in the training of evaluators, through, for example: the promotion of forums, seminars, trainings for the participants to assimilate the new concept of evaluation established by the SINAES.

Para ello, se realizo una investigación de campo (ex post-facto) con el uso de cuestionarios remetidos via online para 44 coordinadores de las CPA, asi como entrevistas hechas con 20 alumnos de graduacion de 13 IES visitadas in situ. Los resultados señalan la necesidad de consolidar la autoevaluacion institucional entre las IES del estado de Ceara – Brasil, asi como proporcionar una mayor inversion en la formacion personal e institucional de los evaluadores, a traves, por ejemplo: de la promocion de foros, seminarios y talleres de formacion para que les quede claro a los participantes la nueva concepcion de evaluacion del SINAES.Partindo-se da premissa de que sistematica de autoavaliação institucional e um processo de busca da melhoria da qualidade educacional, a partir do diagnostico da execução das principais atividades das Instituicoes de Ensino Superior (IES), o artigo teve como objetivo central apreender o grau de conhecimento e aceitação dos Coordenadores das Comissoes Proprias de Autoavaliação Institucional (CPA) das IES cearenses acerca da concepcao de autoavaliação vigente (conforme a Lei nº 10.861 - SINAES). Para tal, foi executada pesquisa de campo (ex post-facto) com o uso de questionarios remetidos via online para 44 coordenadores das CPA, bem como entrevistas realizadas com 20 discentes de graduação, oriundos de 13 IES visitadas in situ.
