O raciocínio geográfico tem lugar num currículo progressista? Para começar um debate sobre a revisão da BNCC

This text is the result of my concerns about the curriculum theory and geography teaching. My proposal stresses the debate on school knowledge with the political theory, based on the discussion of antagonism undertaken by Ernesto Laclau and his interlocutors (2000, 2005). Hence, I seek English-speaking interlocutors who have already problematized limits and powers of metaphors that organize the curriculum, such as geographic reasoning. In this direction, I see the relationship between school knowledge and an approach to political theory as a key to interpreting curricular reforms, on a national and global scale. The hypothesis of this text operates with the suspicion that geographic reasoning induces a protagonist way that shifts to the margin of the curriculum some traditions of teaching Geography that are very dear to the agenda of the disciplinary community and to the criticism of society with a conservative and autocratic regime.
