The National Common Curricular Base and racial/ethnic education in promoting anti-racism education

Resumo: This article discusses anti-racism education in the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC, Brazilian acronym). The research methodological proposal is based on the qualitative approach. As for its objectives, it is characterized as descriptive research. In terms of the procedures for its development, the study took place in two related and interdependent stages: literature review and documentary research. The technique used was contented analysis. It was found that the education for racial and ethnic relations as proposed by the BNCC does not relate to the offer of an anti-racism education as it only reinforces the contents about Africa and Afro-Brazilians, discussions of which are already part of the basic education curricula. From this perspective, the document makes the discussion on racial and ethnic relations unfeasible and focuses on offering education for flexible labor markets. Keywords: Educational Policy. A proposta metodológica da pesquisa está fundamentada na abordagem qualitativa. Em relação aos objetivos é caracterizada como pesquisa descritiva. Em relação aos procedimentos para desenvolvimento do estudo, este aconteceu em duas etapas articuladas e interdependentes, a pesquisa bibliográfica e a pesquisa documental. A técnica utilizada foi a análise de conteúdo. Constatou-se que a Educação para Relações Étnico-Raciais proposta pela BNCC, não está articulada à oferta de uma educação antirracista, apenas reforça os conteúdos sobre a África e os afro-brasileiros, discussões que já fazem parte dos currículos da Educação Básica. Nesta perspectiva, o documento invisibiliza a discussão sobre as Relações Étnico-Raciais e volta-se para oferta de uma educação para o mercado de trabalho flexível.
