Sob esse contexto, o autor optou por realizar o estudo de caso múltiplo em dois campi do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia de uma capital brasileira. Este estudo se justifica na medida em que se percebe a necessidade do gestor público em prestar contas para a sociedade interna e externa, não apenas dos recursos financeiros e materiais, mas também dos valores éticos e morais, principalmente por se tratar de uma organização que oferta ensino. Pautada no contexto mencionado, a linha principal versada nesta pesquisa suscita a reflexão que faculta avaliar o Assédio Moral Docente como ponto de desequilíbrio na vida laboral do professor da rede pública. Para embasar este enfoque, foram investigados comportamentos hostis puníveis administrativa, penal e civilmente pelas leis brasileiras, buscando paralelos e analogias dentro do apêndice legal para evidenciar quando estes são crimes contra a moral, como a calúnia e a difamação, passam a ser o comportamento danoso do Assédio Moral. Foram acrescidas reflexões sobre a necessidade do equilíbrio e do cuidado nas expressões institucionais. Por fim, foram apresentadas três análises documentais, nas quais refletiu-se a respeito das características do assédio moral, segundo os autores apresentados, elencando observações pertinentes ao tema e a que suscitam busca por um convívio profissional de equilíbrio mútuo.This research investigated the possibilities of the occurrence of moral damage in the higher learning institutions. In this context the author chose to carry out a multiple case study on two campuses of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology in a Brazilian capital. This study is justified to the measure that one perceives the need of the public manager to provide accounting to the internal and external society not only of financial and material resources but also of ethical and moral values, mainly because it is an organization which offers education. Focused on the above-mentioned context, the main line developed in this research brings forth the reflection which permits evaluating Moral Harassment of Professors as a point of imbalance in the work life of the professor in the public-school network. To provide foundation for this focus hostile behaviors punishable administratively, criminally and civilly by Brazilian laws were investigated, seeking parallels and analogies within the legal appendix to show when these crimes against the morals, such as slander and defamation, come to be the damaging behavior of Moral Harassment. Reflections were added about the need for balance and care in institutional expressions.
