Resumo: | This study aimed to find out about the achievements and challenges faced by rural students in distance education. The research had an ethnographic approach using interviews and observation. Researchers found that participants were able to develop their personal skills, gain knowledge in the professional field and obtain professional qualification to aspire to better job opportunities. The challenges faced are the lack of skills in handling information and communication technologies, internet connectivity and the adaptation to the distance learning modality. Finally, the research explained the lack of knowledge about the challenges faced by distance learning students in rural areas as well as their achievements. |

La investigación tuvo un diseño etnográfico, y se utilizó la entrevista y la observación. Los logros encontrados son el desarrollo de las competencias personales, la adquisición de conocimientos en el área profesional y la obtención del título profesional para aspirar a mejores oportunidades de empleo. Los retos que enfrentan son la carencia de habilidades en el manejo de las tecnologías de información y de comunicación, la conectividad a internet y la adaptación a la modalidad a distancia. Por último, la investigación justificó la falta de conocimiento acerca de los retos y logros que enfrentan los estudiantes de educación a distancia en las áreas rurales.L’objectif de cette étude était de découvrir les réalisations et les défis que représente l’enseignement à distance pour les étudiants en milieu rural. La recherche a été conçue selon une approche ethnographique s’appuyant sur des entretiens et des observations. Les réalisations montrent le développement des compétences personnelles, l’acquisition de connaissances dans le domaine professionnel et l’obtention d’une qualification professionnelle permettant d’avoir accès à de meilleures opportunités d’emploi. Les défis reflètent un manque de compétences dans le maniement des technologies de l’information et de la communication, le besoin d’améliorer la connectivité à l’internet et celui de s’adapter à l’apprentissage à distance. La recherche est parvenue à expliquer le manque de connaissances sur les réalisations et les défis auxquels les étudiants de l’enseignement à distance sont confrontés dans les zones rurales.O objetivo deste estudo foi conhecer as conquistas e desafios enfrentados pelos estudantes da zona rural na modalidade da educação a distância. A pesquisa teve desenho etnográfico e foram utilizadas entrevista e observação. As conquistas encontradas são o desenvolvimento das competências pessoais, da aquisição de conhecimentos na área profissional e a obtenção do título profissional para aspirar a melhores oportunidades de emprego. Os desafios enfrentados são a falta de habilidades no manejo das tecnologias de informação e comunicação, a conectividade à internet e a adaptação à modalidade a distancia.
