Resumo: | Understanding the implementation process of Environmental Education in the school context is vital for building more sustainable societies. Thus, this article presents the results of a research that aimed to evaluate how the school curriculum has enabled the development and practice of Environmental Education in schools, applying a Matrix of Indicators in state schools in Curitiba-PR. As a result, most schools claim to address EE in their curricula, however, they have weaknesses in crucial points, including the difficulties to involve communities in collective actions and interdisciplinarity. This assessment made it possible to examine the schools’ socio-environmental sustainability, allowing the identification of characteristics for the construction of action plans based on the implementation of more appropriate public policies. |

Así, este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación que tuvo como objetivo evaluar cómo el currículo escolar ha posibilitado el desarrollo y la práctica de la Educación Ambiental en las escuelas, aplicando una Matriz de Indicadores en las escuelas públicas de Curitiba-PR. Como resultado, la mayoría de las escuelas afirman abordar la EA en sus planes de estudio, sin embargo, tienen debilidades en puntos cruciales, incluidas las dificultades para involucrar a las comunidades en las acciones colectivas y la interdisciplinariedad. Esta evaluación permitió examinar la sostenibilidad socioambiental de las escuelas, permitiendo identificar sus características para la construcción de planes de acción basados en la implementación de políticas públicas más adecuadas.Compreender o processo de inserção da Educação Ambiental no contexto escolar é vital para a construção de sociedades mais sustentáveis. Assim, esse artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa que objetivou avaliar como o currículo escolar tem possibilitado o desenvolvimento e a prática da Educação Ambiental nas escolas, aplicando uma Matriz de Indicadores em escolas estaduais de Curitiba-PR. Como resultado, em sua maioria, as instituições declaram abordar a EA em seus currículos, porém, apresentam fragilidades em pontos cruciais, podendo-se citar as dificuldades para envolver as comunidades em ações coletivas e a interdisciplinaridade. Tal avaliação possibilitou examinar a sustentabilidade socioambiental dentro desses ambientes, permitindo identificar suas características para a construção de planos de ação ajustados a realidade e as orientações das políticas públicas do campo da Educação Ambiental.
