STUDENT ASSISTANCE POLICY AT IFSP - ADVANCED CAMPUS ILHA SOLTEIRA: : ACCESS, PERMANENCE AND SUCCESS IN MIDDLE LEVEL TECHNICAL PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

Resumo: The present article, inserted in a study that makes up a broader research, developed in the Professional Post-Graduation Program Formation of Educational Managers, of the University of São Paulo, presents the Policy of Student Assistance (Pae) ​​of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and São Paulo Technology - Ilha Solteira Advanced Campus (IFSP-IST). At the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo, Pae is an educational policy that unfolds into three programs: 1) Permanence Assistance Program; 2) Proeja Student Support Program and 3) Universal Actions Program. Such programs, based on the guidelines of the National Student Assistance Program (Pnaes), aim to develop student assistance actions for the permanence and success of students of Vocational and Technological Education (EPT). As an advanced campus, the IFSP-IST serves, as a priority, courses in Vocational Technical Education at the Middle Level (EPTNM) and Initial and Continuing Training (Fic). Regarding PAE, at IFSP-IST only Permanence Assistance Programs and Universal Action Programs are carried out and such policy is the responsibility of the Student Assistance Analysis Commission (CAAE). This study, when analyzing the Student Assistance Policy of/at IFSP-IST, through documentary research and quantitative and qualitative analysis of data from the Pae evaluation questionnaire answered by students on this campus, found that the institution has some gaps related to Pae, such as expanding the understanding of Pae as an educational policy, knowledge of the staff of the IFSP-IST and the executors of Pae in the institution, in addition to bringing CAAE closer to students. On the other hand, it was noticed that student aid contributes to the greater permanence of students on the campus in question. Therefore, it is understood that the IFSP-IST lacks work that improves Pae's actions on campus and brings CAAE closer to students, to expand their perceptions about Pae and its contributions to student permanence.

No Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia de São Paulo, a Pae é uma política educacional, que se desdobra em três programas: 1) Programa de Auxílio Permanência; 2) Programa de Apoio ao Estudante Proeja e 3) Programa de Ações Universais. Tais programas, pautados nas diretrizes do Programa Nacional de Assistência Estudantil (Pnaes), visam desenvolver ações de assistência estudantil para permanência e êxito de estudantes da Educação Profissional e Tecnológica (EPT). Enquanto campus avançado, o IFSP-IST atende, prioritariamente, cursos de Educação Profissional Técnica de Nível Médio (EPTNM) e de Formação Inicial e Continuada (Fic). Em relação à Pae, no IFSP-IST são executados apenas os Programas de Auxílio Permanência e de Ações Universais e tal política é de responsabilidade da Comissão de Análise de Assistência Estudantil (CAAE). Este estudo, ao analisar a Política de Assistência Estudantil do/no IFSP-IST, por meio de pesquisa documental e análise quantiqualitativa de dados do questionário de avaliação da Pae respondidos pelos discentes deste campus, verificou que na instituição há algumas lacunas relacionadas à Pae, tais como a ampliação da compreensão da Pae como política educacional, conhecimento do quadro de servidores do IFSP-IST e dos executores da Pae na instituição, além da aproximação da CAAE com os estudantes. Por outro lado, percebeu-se que os auxílios estudantis contribuem para maior permanência dos estudantes no campus em questão.
