The inclusion of people with special educational needs: historical contextualization

Resumo: The research, of a theoretical nature, aimed to study how the issue of inclusion of people with special educational needs has been addressed throughout history. We found that through a lot of struggle it was possible to extend the rights guaranteed to other human beings to these people. However, there is still a lot to be done for them to participate in fact and actively in the teaching and learning process in mainstream education and to be effectively included. We arrived at the conclusion that, more than a right of students with special educational needs, educational inclusion presents itself as an ethical issue and, as such, an issue that must be widely discussed by professionals from different areas.

Averiguamos que, por intermedio de mucha lucha, se les han extendido los derechos garantizados a las demás personas. Sin embargo, queda mucho por hacer para que las mismas participen, de hecho,  del proceso regular de enseñanza y aprendizaje y sean realmente incluidas. Concluimos que, además de un derecho de tales alumnos, la inclusión educacional se presenta como una cuestión ética, y así siendo, debe ser largamente discutida por profesionales de distintas áreas.A pesquisa, de natureza teórica, teve como objetivo estudar de que forma a questão da inclusão das pessoas com necessidades educacionais especiais foi abordada no decorrer da história. Verificamos que por meio de muita luta foi possível estender sobre essas pessoas os direitos garantidos aos demais seres humanos. Todavia, ainda há muito o que fazer para que elas participem real e ativamente do processo de ensino e aprendizagem no ensino regular e sejam efetivamente incluídas.
