Resumo: This article sought to discuss how first aid aims to guarantee the survival of people at imminent risk, maintaining vital functions and preventing worsening until professional help arrives. In school environments, accidents are frequent, making first aid training for educators crucial, as established by the Lucas Law (Law nº 13,722). This legislation makes training in the basics of first aid mandatory for teachers and employees of public and private educational institutions, as well as children's recreation establishments. This qualitative and bibliographical research analyzes studies published in the last five years, using databases such as SciELO , CAPES Journals and Google Scholar. The selected articles, between 2018 and 2023, reveal that the implementation of the Lucas Law is not yet complete in Brazil. The ongoing need for first aid training for education professionals is highlighted, ensuring their readiness in emergency situations. This shows that, in several regions of the country, the full application of the Lucas Law faces challenges.
