Resumo: | This essay aims to do a phenomenology of political imagination in two modern films by putting side by side for the comparative analysis the atomic bombing, in Children of Hiroshima (Kaneto Shindo, 1954), and the colonialism, in The Battle of Algiers (Gillo Pontecorvo, 1966), in which the image of dignity appears in time as a figure of justice of what Eric Hobsbawm has called “the age of extremes”. It discusses Charles Taylor’s political philosophy concerning dignity in the moral world of moderns in dialogue with Gastón Bachelard´s phenomenological approach to poetic imagination, used here in a different way, towards the spaces of hostility and the political imagination that takes as reference the impassioned subject matter and apocalyptic images. |

El ensayo hace una fenomenología de la imaginación política en dos películas modernas. Pone, lado a lado para el análisis comparativo, el bombardeo atómico, en Los niños de Hiroshima (Kaneto Shindo, 1952), y el colonialismo, en La batalla de Argel (Gillo Pontecorvo, 1966), presentando, en el tiempo, la imagen de la dignidad como una figura de justicia de lo que Eric Hobsbawm llamó de “la era de los extremos”. En este sentido, se discute la filosofía política de Charles Taylor sobre la dignidad en el mundo moral de los modernos en diálogo con la fenomenología de la imaginación poética de Bachelard, aquí utilizada con otro enfoque, hacia la imaginación política de los espacios de hostilidad refiriéndose a materias ardientes y a las imágenes apocalípticas. O ensaio faz uma fenomenologia da imaginação política em dois filmes modernos. Coloca, lado a lado para a análise comparada, o bombardeio atômico, em Filhos de Hiroshima (Kaneto Shindo, 1952), e o colonialismo, em A batalha de Argel (Gillo Pontecorvo, 1966), dando a ver, no tempo, a imagem da dignidade como uma figura de justiça do que Eric Hobsbawm chamou de “era dos extremos”.
