The purpose of this article is to analyze the interpretation given by the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) to article 1.015 of the Code of Civil Procedure (CPC) when judging Special Appeal No. 1.704.520 - MT (REsp No. 1.704.520) under the system of repetitive appeals. This article is intended to reflect on the possibility of analyzing the list provided in the aforementioned article in an extensive and analogous manner, analyzing whether the understanding adopted by the STJ violates the legislature's intentions in restricting the cases in which an interlocutory appeal may be filed. For this purpose, we initially discuss the general aspects and concepts (legal nature, applicability, deadlines, among others) of the interlocutory appeal and then make a brief explanation of the main changes on the subject under analysis that have occurred since the Code of Civil Procedure of 1939 until the Code currently in force (2015), concluding this study with the analysis of REsp No. 1.704.520
