The present work aims to reflect on my teaching practice in elementary school I. The research revolves around the planning, application and analysis of data from a didactic sequence to a third year English class of elementary school I. At the same time, analyze the data, the teacher-researcher discoversthat everything she does in the classroom is questionable, moreover, she realizes that she teaches vocabulary and that she speaks in English only the words she thinks necessary. These perceptions lead to a process of reflection on the practice itself triggering in a reconstruction of the planningTo support this study I will have as a starting point the Language that will be discussed through Vygotsky's studies from Jobim and Souza (1995) and Rego (2002).The concept of gender will be of great importance in this study and will be presented by the view of Marcuschi (2008) and Schnewly (2011).The teaching of English in elementary school I will be investigated by Graddol (2006) and Rocha (2008).The official PMSP Curriculum will be based on the PMSP Curricular Guidelines (2007) and the official elementary school curriculum I will be guided by ordinance 5,361 of December 4, 2011
