Research themes that orbit the STS approach: a network analysis of the published theses in Brazil

Science, Technology and Society (STS) studies in the area of Teaching and Education have been growing in Brazil. With the increasing number of searches, many jobs begin to get your State of the Art. This work seeks to understand the relationship between the keywords used on all theses published in Brazil from 1992 to 2014. With the aid of Graph Theory, modeling the Orbital keywords was conducted, whose goal is to know what topics are closer to STS. This is a methodology developed by the STS and Education Group of CEFET/RJ - Brazil, in which the keywords are arranged as “orbiting” around a core STS (common keyword of in almost all jobs). Through this mapping, we tried to understand what the paths trodden by STS in Brazil and its relations with other themes in the area and thus contribute to future work in the area have more assertive relations for searches in their themes.
