Modeling and Paulo Freire’s legacy: synergies and possibilities for Basic Education

Resumo: Emphasizing synergies between Paulo Freire's legacy and Modeling in Mathematics Education and reflecting on how these synergies can converge in the direction of this approach to Mathematics in Basic Education is the objective of this work. For this, from the qualitative paradigm, we present a bibliographical study, we discuss some reflections that are present in the Freirean legacy and also in the literature regarding Modeling. Later, we present the synergies between one study and another and thus we build some considerations that corroborate some guidelines that aim that Modeling is present at schools of Basic Education and, with that, to contribute so that students and teachers can make a reading of the world, also from the instruments of mathematics itself.

Para eso, a partir del paradigma cualitativo, presentamos un estudio bibliográfico, discutimos algunas reflexiones que están presentes en el legrado freireano y también en la literatura en cuanto al modelamiento. Siguiente, presentamos las correlaciones entre un estudio y otro y así realizamos algunas consideraciones que van al encuentro de algunos direccionamientos que discuten que el modelamiento esté presente en las escuelas de educación básica y, con eso, contribuir para que los estudiantes y profesores puedan hacer una lectura del mundo también a partir de instrumentos propios de la matemática.Evidenciar sinergias entre o legado de Paulo Freire e a Modelagem em Educação Matemática e refletir de que forma estas podem convergir em encaminhamentos para que essa abordagem chegue as aulas de Matemática da Educação Básica é o objetivo desse trabalho. Para isso, a partir do paradigma qualitativo, apresentamos um estudo bibliográfico, discutimos algumas reflexões que estão presentes no legado freireano e também na literatura quanto a Modelagem.
