THE TRADCORPUS DIGITAL ENVIRONMENT: A PROPOSAL OF AN ONLINE REPOSITORY FOR CORPORA DATA TO BE USED TO FOREIGN LANGUAGE AND TRANSLATION TEACHING

Resumo: This article presents a preliminary online repository called TRADCorpus - Translation and Online Corpora for Training Professional Competences, which aims at providing open multilingual, parallel and comparable corpora as resource for teaching and learning translation and language skills in multiple language pairs such as Portuguese ↔ English ↔ Spanish ↔ French ↔ Italian ↔ German. The theories used for building this collection mainly follow the concepts of Data-Driven Learning as well as Corpus-Based Translation Pedagogy which promote a process of effective use of corpora for performing teaching and translation tasks. This database, as well as a list of online computational tools, will be available to languageteachers, translators and students who will be able to access a set of files and activities produced by different users and they will be able to share their own work as well. Most of the corpora and lists of words, keywords and collocates are the results of the research developed by the groups “Translation, Terminology and Corpora” and “En-Corpora: Corpus-Based and Corpus- Driven Teaching” (CNPq).

O presente artigo apresenta a interface inicial do repositório Tradução e Corpora On-line para Formação de Competências Profissionais (TRADCorpus), que visa fornecer corpora abertos multilíngues, paralelos e comparáveis como recurso para o ensino e aprendizagem de Tradução e de competências linguísticas em múltiplos pares de línguas tais como Português ↔ Inglês ↔ Espanhol ↔ Francês ↔ Italiano ↔ Alemão. As teorias utilizadas para construir este conjunto de dados seguem principalmente os conceitos de Data-Driven Learning, bem como a Pedagogia de Tradução Baseada em Corpus, que promovem um processo de utilização eficaz dos corpora para a realização de tarefas de ensino e de Tradução. Essa coleção de materiais, bem como uma lista de ferramentas computacionais, está disponível para professores de línguas, tradutores e estudantes que podem acessar arquivos e atividades produzidas por diferentes usuários e podem também partilhar as suas próprias produções. A maioria dos corpora, listas de palavras, palavras-chave, colocados são resultados da pesquisa desenvolvida pelos grupos “Tradução, Terminologia e Corpora” e “En-Corpora”: Ensino Baseado e Dirigido por Corpora” (CNPq).
