Resumo: | In the year that marks a decade since the release of this seminal film, this article promotes a reading of Branco sai, preto fica (2014), by Adirley Queirós in connection with reflections on diasporic musical counterculture, which distinguishes itself from the modern episteme Western, present in the thought of Paul Gilroy. On the one hand, the contact of reflections with the author helps to understand the political content of the film. On the other hand, the legacy of Brazilian thought surrounding the work helps to complexify the notion of a black Atlantic, proposed by the author, pointing to a black South Atlantic. |
