Resumo: The learning of science procedures has been encouraged by national and international educational proposals. An initiative that has become frequent t o fulfill this purpose is the insertion of the students in projects of Scientific Initiation Jr. In this study we have the objective to investigate the comprehension about procedures performed in science of students participating in a project of Scientific Initiation Jr, as an understanding of the problem investigated, hypothesis emission, research planning and data recording. Students answered four questions based on a problem situation presented. The students' answers are classified as "totals", "partial" and "null", according to the Program for International Student Assessment. The students performed better in relation to the emission and confrontation of hypotheses.

Uma iniciativa que tem se tornado frequente para atender essa finalidade é a inserção dos alunos em projetos de Iniciação Cientifica Jr. Neste estudos temos por objetivo investigar a compreensão sobre procedimentos realizados em ciência de alunos participantes de um projeto de Iniciação Científica Jr, como entendimento sobre o problema pesquisado, emissão de hipótese, planejamento da investigação e registro de dados. Os alunos responderam a quarto perguntas com base a uma situação-problema apresentada. As respostas dos estudantes classificadas em “totais”, “parcias” e “nulas”, conforme Programme for International Student Assessment.
