Resumo: One of the challenges of science education points to the creation of strategies that favor learning that are not often promoted in formal education. This work aims to investigate the contributions arising from the development of a participatory pedagogical practice that culminated in a field class at the Mochuara Municipal Natural Park in Cariacica/ES, which favored advances in students' scientific literacy. It is a qualitative research, a school intervention research, whose data were collected through videos, portfolios, questionnaires and field diaries, interpreted in the light of scientific literacy indicators. The results showed that the activity stimulated the information organization capacity, the raising of hypotheses in the interpretation of the anthropic action results in the environment, the deepening of science concepts and the improvement of interpersonal relationships among the students.

Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo investigar as contribuições advindas do desenvolvimento de uma prática pedagógica participativa que culminou com uma aula de campo no Parque Municipal Natural Mochuara em Cariacica/ES, com vistas a favorecer avanços na alfabetização científica dos alunos. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, na qual foi desenvolvida uma prática pedagógica participativa, cujos dados foram colhidos por meio de vídeos, portfolios, questionários e diário de campo, interpretados à luz dos indicadores da alfabetização científica.
