Critical Statistical education: a look at educational processes

Resumo: The student's task for a Critical Statistical Education goes far beyond following the formulas and concepts studied throughout the training and repeated year by year for the students; on the contrary, the teaching-learning process can form an autonomous, curious and inquiring subject that produces his hypotheses, constructs arguments, knows how to express his opinion, develops conclusions and learns that to err is part of the process. In this work we present three competences: statistical literacy, statistical thinking and statistical reasoning, under the light of the critical perspective. The study allows us to infer that it is possible to develop a Critical Statistical Education in high school and indicate some potential elements for the competences with a view to the educational processes, listing concepts such as generative research, generative theme, mathematics, research scenarios, work in teamwork, world reading, dialogue, education as a political act, critical awareness, and liberating education.

The study allows us to infer that it is possible to develop a Critical Statistical Education in high school and indicate some potential elements for the competences with a view to the educational processes, listing concepts such as generative research, generative theme, mathematics, research scenarios, work in teamwork, world reading, dialogue, education as a political act, critical awareness, and liberating education.A tarefa discente para uma Educação Estatística Crítica vai muito além de seguir fórmulas e conceitos estudados ao longo da formação e repetidos ano a ano para os estudantes, ao contrário, o processo de ensino-aprendizagem pode formar um sujeito autônomo, curioso e indagador que produz suas hipóteses, constrói argumentos, sabe expor sua opinião, desenvolve conclusões e aprende que errar faz parte do processo.  Neste trabalho colocamos em tela três competências: literacia estatística, pensamento estatístico e raciocínio estatístico, sob a luz da perspectiva crítica.
