Resumo: The Mosquito of Dengue Fever project originated with a visit by health surveillance to a children's school in the state of Rio de Janeiro to control Aedes aegypti. It presents an experience narrative as a research proposal and also for teacher training in Science, developed as a pedagogical project with 5-year-old children, which involved them with the educators in a collective construction, based on dialogues, research and sharing of knowledge. The methodology of work at school focused on problems, curiosities and discoveries, highlighting the teacher's training process by the involvement of researcher spirit, constant research, observation and creation and collective sharing of scientific knowledge with children. The project went through the interdisciplinarity of different areas of learning scientific knowledge and promoted situations and activities that allowed young children to get in touch, interact and experience with nature and the world around them when exercising their cognitive processes in the discovery of the world of the sciences. This theme had a dialogue with (a) Tiriba, Colinvaux and Rosa in their theses on childhood, nature and the sciences; (b) Kramer, Barbosa and Horn in their work on pedagogical projects with children; (c) Nóvoa, Finger and Bragança in their (auto)biographical narrative perspectives and other authors who supported the construction of this writing. The project discussed an issue arising from everyday school life, criticized children's naive curiosities and enabled them to methodically rigorous scientific approaches to the cognizable mosquito.
