Resumo: The present work presents a theoretical study on Historical-Critical Pedagogy and Vygotsky's Sociocultural Theory analyzing its possible use in Early Childhood Education in the public school system. Its main objective is to analyze the development of these theories with children and their impact on development. The methodological procedures were guided by the qualitative approach, through the literature review, having as input the authors: Dermeval Saviani (2008, 2011), Vygotsky (2010), Newton Duarte (2013), among others. The results show us that learning affects the development of students and that, depending on the methodology and mediation, it is possible not only to make our children literate, but also to create critical beings.

O seu principal objetivo é analisar o desenvolvimento dessas teorias com crianças e sua incidência no desenvolvimento. Os procedimentos metodológicos foram orientados pela abordagem qualitativa, por intermédio da revisão bibliográfica, possuindo como aporte os autores: Dermeval Saviani (2008, 2011), Vygotsky (2010), Newton Duarte (2013), entre outros.
