Vocational and Technological Education teacher training: pertinent reflections.

Resumo: | This work brings reflections from a qualitative research with the objective of producing reflections about the pedagogical knowledge necessary for the practice of teaching in Vocational and Technological Education. It is perceived that training teachers for EPT represents a commitment to integral human education, in which the technical dimension must be incorporated, in order to integrate plural knowledge and learning, which permeate critical and emancipatory rationality, thus, general, professional and humanizing. The locus of the investigation was the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Piauí – IFPI, Campus Pedro II and the State Professional Educational Center of Piauí, where a semi-structured interview was applied with two licensed teachers and a Technologist. The results show the need for these professionals to be conceived as fundamental in spaces for participation, reflection and learning, and they lack proposals for continuing education in EPT, which help them to learn and live with changes and complexities of the present time, paying attention to their realities needs. |

Percebe-se que formar professores para a EPT, representa um compromisso com a formação humana integral, na qual a dimensão técnica deve ser incorporada, de modo a integrar saberes e aprendizagens plurais, que perpassem pela racionalidade crítica e emancipatória, assim, geral, profissional e humanizadora. O lócus da investigação foi o Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Piauí – IFPI, Campus Pedro II e o Centro Estadual Educacional Profissional do Piauí, onde foi aplicada uma entrevista semiestruturada com dois professores Licenciados e um Tecnólogo.
