Resumo: | This paper aims to explain some aspects of Foucault´s philosophical work and tries to connect some of his ideas with the education of modern citizens. We are going to do, in the following pages, a short biography of Michel Foucault. After that, the three phases of the development of his knowledge are going to be considered. From the basis of his ideas of power and biopower, the grounds of biopolitics, we will develop the biopolitics concept and relate it to education. From a discourse analysis as the methodological approach, the biopolitical theme will be considered on its connection to education. This study aims to support the idea that education is one biopolitical instrument of the government. |

Este artigo procura esboçar alguns pontos do pensamento de Michel Foucault e relacioná-los com o processo de educação dos sujeitos contemporâneos. Faremos, no espaço que segue, uma breve revisita à alguns momentos da biografia do autor em questão. A seguir, iremos abordar sinteticamente as três fases do seu pensamento para, a partir da construção da ideia de poder e biopoder, basilares para a biopolítica, desenvolver estas ideias e apontar pontos de conexão com a educação dos dias atuais. A partir da abordagem metodológica da análise do discurso, o tema da biopolítica será abordado em sua conexão com a educação.
