This article presents an excerpt from the ongoing dissertation titled "Academic Literacies in a Technical Course in Baking Subsequent to High School," which aims to analyze the constitution of academic literacies in the Pedagogical Project of the Technical Course in Baking at the Federal Institute of Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul - IFRS Campus Osório. In this perspective, the article offers a reflection on academic literacies and their alignment with institutional policy, as well as how this theme contributes to the holistic human formation of students. The Federal Institutes play a fundamental role in providing basic, professional, and technological education and have been committed to ensuring access to quality education that fosters comprehensive and multidisciplinary training, valuing both technical and scientific knowledge, as well as citizenship education. In this context, the development of academic literacies holds significant importance as reading, writing, and interpreting situated and contextualized texts are foundational for students' academic, professional, and personal growth. Consequently, this article seeks to shed light on how academic literacies are embedded within the institution's pedagogical proposals. Ultimately, the goal is to present a reflection on academic literacies and their alignment with the institutional approach, potentially contributing to a more inclusive and meaningful education.
