Resumo: The text was drawn from results of research carried out between 2010 and 2012. The objective was to understand the state of research and intellectual production in the area of Didactic in Southern Brazil. The documentary analysis methodology, working with documents available online was applied. The research was carried out with 9 Postgraduate Program in Education, 12 research lines, 115 professors, 244 research projects and 1730 publications. It was concluded that there is a great number of research and publication on the investigative field of Didactics and on the dimension of its foundation, but very little on the disciplinary and professional fields and on the conditions and ways of teaching. It is noteworthy that only a transformative practice can help change the reality of the school, the quality of teacher formation, of learning and mental development of the students.

El objetivo fue el de comprender el estado de la investigación y de la producción intelectual en el área de la Didáctica en la región Sur de Brasil. Se utilizó la metodología de análisis documental, mediante el trabajo con documentos disponibles on-line. Se trabajó con 9 Programas de Posgrado en Educación, 12 líneas de investigación, 115 profesores, 244 proyectos de investigación y 1730 publicaciones. Se concluyó que se investiga y se publica mucho en el campo investigativo de la Didáctica y sobre la dimensión de los fundamentos de esta ciencia, aunque haya muy poco sobre los campos disciplinario y profesional y sobre las dimensiones de las condiciones y los modos de la Didáctica. Se resalta que solamente una práctica transformadora puede ayudar a cambiar la realidad de la escuela, la calidad de la formación de los profesores, el aprendizaje y el desarrollo mental de los alumnos. Este texto foi elaborado a partir de resultados de pesquisa realizada entre 2010 e 2012. Objetivou-se compreender o estado da pesquisa e da produção intelectual na área da Didática na região Sul do Brasil. Utilizou-se a metodologia de análise documental, mediante o trabalho com documentos disponíveis on-line. Trabalhou-se com 9 Programas de Pós-graduação em Educação, 12 linhas de pesquisa, 115 professores, 244 projetos de pesquisa e 1730 publicações. Concluiu-se que se pesquisa e se publica muito no campo investigativo da Didática e sobre a dimensão dos fundamentos dessa ciência, mas muito pouco sobre os campos disciplinar e profissional e sobre as dimensões das condições e os modos da Didática.
