Resumo: | This qualitative study, investigated the scientific production of knowledge about dance from its educational perspective. It was developed an exploratory research with the groups which were registered in the groups directory of CNPq, where the terms “dance and education” were selected and in the CNPq Lattes Platform to get information about the papers published with the term “dance” in their titles belonging from the “Full Article published in journals” section, during 2005 and 2010. The results were descriptively analyzed through Thematic Content Analysis Technique and indicated the predominance of Art, Education and Physical Education areas of knowledge focusing dance articles. The potential intervention of dance has been recognized and highlighted in the educational perspective, specially linking transdisciplinary and aesthetic education, with interfaces in the social, cultural and therapeutic contexts. Due to its complexity and scope, dance studies have gaps that need further directions and deeper academic discussions. |

Foi desenvolvida uma pesquisa exploratória com grupos cadastrados no Diretório de Grupos de Pesquisa do CNPq, selecionados pelos termos “dança e educação”, e na Plataforma Lattes, para informações sobre as publicações que traziam a dança nos títulos dos artigos completos publicados em periódicos no período de 2005 a 2010. Os resultados, analisados descritivamente por Análise de Conteúdo Temático, indicam a predominância de publicações sobre dança na área de Artes, seguida pelas de Educação e Educação Física. Seu potencial de intervenção vem sendo evidenciado e reconhecido em uma perspectiva educativa nos estudos focalizados, especialmente associando-se à transdisciplinaridade e à educação estética em interface com os contextos sociais, culturais e terapêuticos.
