Reflections on the BNCC in mathematics teachers’ initial training: an experience report

Resumo: The National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) is a normative document aligned to large-scale external evaluations and to the Teachers Training Guidelines of 2019 (BNC-Training). The analysis of the BNCC is necessary due to its regulatory capacity. To problematize BNCC in teachers’ initial training, we present an experience conducted in the 2nd semester of 2021, on the Mathematics Degree course of the Federal Institute of São Paulo, Bragança Paulista campus. An interdisciplinary work was developed, involving the curricular components Mathematics Teaching Laboratory, Organization and Educational Politics, and Educational Psychology, based on the construction of lesson plans. In the plans presentations, it was possible to discuss the use of BNCC without contextualization, and to reflect on the standardization of training processes. It was noticed the undergraduates’ concern regarding the autonomy in planning, and the valorization in using manipulative materials to favor creativity.

El análisis de la BNCC es necesario frente a su carácter regulador. Con la intención de problematizar la BNCC en la formación inicial de profesores, se presenta la experiencia realizada, en el 2º semestre de 2021, en el curso de Licenciatura de Matemáticas del Instituto Federal de São Paulo, campus Bragança Paulista. Fue desarrollado en trabajo interdisciplinario, envolviendo los componentes curriculares Laboratorio de Enseñanza de Matemáticas, Organización y Política Educacional y Psicología de la Educación, a partir de la construcción de planes de clase. En las presentaciones de los planes, fue posible discutir sobre el uso de la BNCC sin contextualización y reflexionar sobre la estandarización de los procesos formativos. Se percibe una preocupación de los licenciandos sobre la autonomía en el planeamiento y la valoración del uso de materiales manipulativos, de manera que favorezca a la creatividad.A Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) é um documento normativo alinhado às avaliações externas em larga escala e às Diretrizes de Formação de Professores (BNC-Formação) de 2019. A análise da BNCC se faz necessária frente ao seu caráter regulador. Com intuito de problematizar a BNCC na formação inicial de professores, apresenta-se a experiência realizada, no 2o semestre de 2021, no curso de Licenciatura em Matemática do Instituto Federal de São Paulo, câmpus Bragança Paulista. Foi desenvolvido um trabalho interdisciplinar, envolvendo os componentes curriculares Laboratório de Ensino de Matemática, Organização e Política Educacional e Psicologia da Educação, a partir da construção de planos de aula. Nas apresentações dos planos, foi possível discutir sobre o uso da BNCC sem contextualização e refletir acerca da padronização dos processos formativos.
