The Handmaid's Tale can be considered a timeless novel, considering that it does not only make sense for the context in which it was published, but is still relevant today, bringing emerging reflections. Through dystopia one can look to the past, think about the present and speculate on a possibly disastrous future, according to the direction the 21st century society is taking. It is frightening, reading a fiction and being able to make a parallel with real life from the enunciation and dialectic between bodies that matter. In this way, the reader is invited to a critical reading of this fiction that became a TV series by Hulo, bringing greater visibility to Atwood's work. Thus, the objective is to analyze the construction of the discourse that permeates its universe, analyzing issues such as power, body and voices present in the book. Through a bibliographic research based on the work in question from the perspective of Bakhtin and Foucault, the reader is invited to a critical reading through the mixture between fiction and reality.
