The Institutional Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program (PIBID) is a Program of Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) that among its objectives intends to offer conditions for greater integration between schools of Basic Education and educational institutions, thus promoting an articulation between the theory and practice of teaching, contributing to the elevation of the quality of degree courses. The program provides licensees with direct contact with the school reality, from a perspective of differentiated performance, allowing teachers a preparation for its future field of action. Currently the PIBID of Chemistry has thirteen undergraduate scholarship holders, two public school teachers (subproject supervisors) and three higher education professors (area coordinator,management coordinator and institutional coordinator). And it serves two schools in the network public of Cajazeiras PB, Cristiano Cartaxo and Monsignor Constantino Vieira. THEThis project aims to investigate the contributions of PIBID to the teaching of chemistry, in the view of high school students and for teacher training according to reports from supervising professors and chemistry scholarship holders. The methodology used it has a qualitative approach using forms and semi-structured interviews. A debate was held with the CFP/UFCG chemistry PIBID fellows, aiming at provide a moment for reflection on the program. The obtained results demonstrate the importance of PIBID to teacher training and the consequent improvement of learning process in chemistry. It is concluded that the PIBID program has a role significant for the teaching-learning process and for teacher training.
