Resumo: This paper is an article-opinion based on the original article Presentation of concepts in a children’s science communication book: the case of Isaac no Mundo das Partículas. The main motivation for this article-opinion is to contribute to the discussions on science communication for children focusing on the book Isaac no Mundo das Partículas, by Élika Takimoto. The following question guided the research: how could the book Isaac no Mundo das Partículas enhance the development of children’s creativity and imagination from a historical-cultural perspective? The theoretical reflections, strongly based on the Vigotskian book Imagination and Creativity in Childhood, allowed us to conclude, among other considerations, that reading or listening to the story of a science communication book broadens children's experience, thus creating grounds for the development of their imagination, which will be necessary for learning science.

La principal motivación para su elaboración es contribuir para profundizar la divulgación científica para niños a partir del libro Isaac no Mundo das Partículas, de Élika Takimoto. La siguiente pregunta sirvió de base para la investigación: ¿cómo el libro Isaac no Mundo das Partículas puede colaborar con el desarrollo de la creación y de la imaginación de los niños bajo la perspectiva histórico-cultural? Las reflexiones teóricas desarrolladas, que tuvieron como marco teórico la obra vigotskiana Imaginación y creación en la edad infantil, permitieron concluir, entre otras consideraciones, que la lectura o la escucha de la historia del libro de divulgación científica amplía la experiencia de los niños y crea bases para el desarrollo de su imaginación, que será necesaria para aprender ciencias.O presente texto consiste em um artigo-parecer sobre o artigo original A apresentação de conceitos em um livro de divulgação científica infantil: o caso Isaac no Mundo das Partículas. A principal motivação para a escrita deste artigo-parecer é contribuir para o aprofundamento da temática da divulgação científica para crianças por intermédio do livro Isaac no Mundo das Partículas, escrito por Elika Takimoto. A seguinte pergunta norteou a investigação: como o livro Isaac no Mundo das Partículas pode colaborar para o desenvolvimento da criatividade e da imaginação das crianças na perspectiva histórico-cultural?
