Resumo: The death presents itself in the lives of all as part of a cycle that is inevitable, unfolding in a different way for each individual. The preparation of the health professional during the graduation period contributes to the orientation of the undergraduates in the situation of death and mourning, minimizing the feeling of frustration in the face of loss. For this, the teacher can rely on the help of active methodologies, which aims to transport the student to situations closer to those that will be experienced. The objective of this study is to report the experience of professors in the topic of death in Pediatrics, with students from the fifth semester of the Nursing course at a university center in Porto Alegre/RS. It was possible to identify the students' lack of preparation and fear to speak about death, exposing the necessity of a continuous work and designed to approach the situations of death and mourning, during the whole formation.

La preparación del professional de la salud durante el período de pregrado contribuye para la orientación de los estudiantes de graduación frente a la situación de muerte y luto, minimizando el sentimiento de frustración ante la pérdida. Para esto, el profesor puede contar con la ayuda de metodologías activas, que tienen como objetivo transportar al estudiante a las situaciones más cercanas a las que se van a vivir. El objetivo de este trabajo es informar la experiencia de los profesores al abordar el tema de la muerte en Pediatría, con estudiantes del quinto período del curso de Enfermería –  Licenciatura en un centro universitario en Porto Alegre/RS. Fue posible identificar la falta de preparación y el temor de los estudiantes para hablar en la muerte, exponiendo la necesidad de un trabajo contínuo y diseñado para reanudar, durante toda la formación, las situaciones de muerte y duelo.A morte apresenta-se na vida de todos como parte de um ciclo que é inevitável, desenrolando-se de forma distinta para cada indivíduo. O preparo do profissional da Saúde durante o período de graduação colabora para a orientação dos graduandos frente à situação de morte e luto, minimizando o sentimento de frustração diante da perda. Para isso, o docente pode contar com o auxílio de metodologias ativas, que visam a transportar o discente para situações mais próximas das que serão vividas. Objetiva-se, neste trabalho, relatar a experiência de professores ao abordar o tema morte em pediatria, com alunos do quinto período do curso de graduação em Enfermagem – Bacharelado de um centro universitário de Porto Alegre/RS.
