University and teaching activity: challenges in a pandemic experience

Resumo: This essay has as its object the teaching activity in times of pandemic. In the light of the theoretical framework of the institutional analysis, we seek to unveil instituted and instituting processes of teaching and academic life, having the experience with COVID-19 as an analyzer of its functioning. For this, we carried out an analysis focused on three types of relationships based on the daily work of teachers: (1) relationships with students, (2) relationships with the knowledge production, (3) relationships with society in general, crossed by three other processes transversal to each of these relationships: the virtualization of daily life; the political-social polarization and the resistance and creation movements emerging in the university world in times of pandemic. It is concluded that the overcoming of binarisms and polarizations that have been expressed in recent years in Brazil is an important condition for the reinvention of the academic space refounded in new regimes of trust and collaboration.

A la luz del marco teórico del análisis institucional, buscamos develar los procesos instituidos e instituyentes de la docencia y la vida académica, contando con la experiencia durante la pandemia de COVID-19 como analizador de su funcionamiento. Para ello, realizamos un análisis centrado en tres tipos de relaciones que intervienen en el quehacer diario de los docentes: (1) relaciones con los estudiantes, (2) relaciones con la producción de conocimiento, (3) relaciones con la sociedad en general, atravesado por otros tres procesos transversales a cada una de estas relaciones: la virtualización de la vida cotidiana; polarización político-social y movimientos de resistencia y creación que surgen en el mundo universitario en tiempos de pandemia. Se concluye que la superación de los binarismos y polarizaciones que se han expresado en los últimos años en Brasil es una condición importante para la reinvención del espacio académico refundado en nuevos regímenes de confianza y colaboración.Este ensaio tem como objeto a atividade docente em tempos de pandemia. À luz do referencial teórico da análise institucional, procuramos desvelar processos instituídos e instituintes da atividade docente e da vida acadêmica, tendo a experiência com a COVID-19 como um analisador de seu funcionamento. Para isso, realizamos uma análise focada em três tipos de relações envolvidas no trabalho cotidiano de docentes: (1) as relações com os estudantes, (2) as relações com a produção de conhecimento, (3) as relações com a sociedade em geral, atravessadas por outros três processos transversais a cada uma dessas relações: a virtualização da vida cotidiana; a polarização político-social e os movimentos de resistência e criação emergentes no mundo universitário em tempos de pandemia.
